Barrie’s Poet Laureate and Barrie Writer’s Club guest speaker, Dr. Bruce Meyer will be launching his new book Alphabestiary, with co-author H. Masud Taj on September 30 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery on Dunlop Street, in the heart of downtown Barrie. This is a public event which all are invited and encouraged to attend. From the invitation:
You are cordially invited to join us for the Barrie launch of a new, breakthrough book, Alphabestiary: A Poetry-Emblem Book published by Exile Editions, featuring the poems of Indio-Canadian oral poet H. Masud Taj and the prose poem/exegeses of Bruce Meyer.
This new volume contains a poem and a prose piece where every letter of the alphabet represents a different animal. In a rare conversation between the traditions of Eastern and Western poetry, two unique voices come together in a mutual celebration of life on this planet as we know it. Bring your Smartphones because this is the first literary book to feature built in QRs (Quick Response codes). The cover is by Barrie artist Jon Merchant.
There will be light snacks and a cash bar, and the authors will be available for signings of this book and will be reading from this unique volume.
